Overview
A group of alumni and friends of the various High Schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines formed the Friends of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Grammar School for Promotion of Secondary Education (FSVGS INC.) in 1990. Its vision then and now was to dedicate its efforts to having an impact on the education of youngsters who reside both here in the United States as well as the Caribbean.
The organization launched its mission by forming alliances with High Schools in the host city of Piscataway, New Jersey, in New York and with the education professionals in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
While its focus has shifted over the years due to certain realities, FSVGS INC. continues to be particularly active in awarding scholarships to serve as a lifeline to the best and brightest of our target area's financially disadvantaged youngsters. Consequently, we award scholarships of $500.00 US apiece to students who have graduated from US based High Schools and who demonstrate a financial need. Each student must also write an essay of 500 words on a topic of Caribbean interest. Whereas many of its members hail from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in fact most of the scholarships awarded so far have actually been won with no affiliation to St. Vincent.
As a 501c tax exempt organization, any Contribution to our fundraisers will benefit from the appropriate tax consideration allowed by law. We encourage you to seek further information on our organization by writing to:
